VI. System Security

Other significant sections of an information system must be considered when developing and maintaining a secure sys­tem. Most items listed below are dealt with in separate security modules. The appropriate place to deal with these de­tailed aspects of a secure system is in a separate course for each of these topics.

When using this basic module, remind students about the importance of security in each of the major areas listed below.

  5. Application Software
  6. Systems Security
  7. Systems Architecture
  8. Audit and Control
  9. Corporate Security Management

Ultimately these areas must be considered together as a system.
